About
The Environmental Affairs Council (EAC) is a student environmental group dedicated to protecting the earth's natural resources. They sponsor many programs on campus and in the local area including recycling programs for aluminum cans and plastic bottles.
Purpose
The Environmental Affairs Council (EAC) at Millikin seeks to help spread awareness about environmental issues to our campus, help the campus community become more environmentally friendly and carbon neutral, and organizes the recycling program.
Current Work:
Installing a green roof garden, improving our recycling program, trying to assess solar power use, looking into buying local foods for our cafe, trying to start a mini campus energy challenge in our athletic conference, help our chemistry department improve its green chemistry, and a few of our members went to Power Shift. We are also trying to get our President to sign the Presidents Climate Challenge.
